Smaller Means More Personal
In quality medical care, as a general rule bigger is better. Where memory loss is concerned, the opposite is more often true. That's why we typically have no more than six residents sharing a home with a CareTeam. With a higher certified staff-to-residents ratio than larger facilities or assisted living centers, ComfortCare Homes provides your loved one a combination of personalized care and professional expertise surpassing what they could receive in either an institution or their own home.

Familiar Places, Familiar Faces

Our homes are designed to make surroundings familiar, care consistent. Room furnishings and personal mementos help residents foster links with the past, replacing confusion and anxiety. With a single CareTeam of trained, compassionate staff assigned to each home, residents see familiar faces on a predictable schedule. Likewise, CareTeam members learn to know the residents -- not just their health care needs but their personal habits, likes and dislikes. Connections are made... a crucial aspect in meeting the physical and emotional needs of those with memory loss.

The Less Things Change, The Better

Through our emphasis on psychological and social comfort, many of our residents have had to rely less on medication to treat anxiety and agitation. Unlike the “transfer trauma” that can come with being thrust into foreign or clinical surroundings, moving to a ComfortCare Home is much easier for someone with dementia to accept. Rather than a change of lifestyle, it is simply a change of address.
