Personalized Dementia Care, 24/7 Support
As leaders in dementia and Alzheimer’s care, we know it is vital to give each resident a personal care plan. We review and update it often to meet changing social and medical needs. No two cases of dementia are the same. Our caregivers are kind, flexible and work to improve the life of every ComfortCare Homes resident.
All homes are staffed 24 hours a day by certified caregivers, who can assist with most activities of daily living. ComfortCare Homes provides specialized services that help people with a diagnosis of dementia thrive.

More Than Home-Like
Our memory care residences are designed as homes first to reduce confusion and stress. We don’t just add cozy touches to a hospital-like building. Our homes are homes first. We seamlessly integrate needed medical support systems into the environment.
The welcoming front door leads into a cozy living room area, with an always-open kitchen. Windows let in the light from the backyard gardens. Hallways lead to bedrooms, just like they do in typical houses.
Each ComfortCare Home is a licensed Home Plus residence. with private rooms that include en suite half baths for privacy and convenience. Common spaces in living and family rooms offer chances to host visitors for special events and casual weekend get-togethers.
Quality, Compassionate Nursing Care
Nurses and caregivers are trained specifically in the latest methods for providing compassionate, understanding care to this unique population.
Each caregiver undergoes a rigorous 40-hour onboarding process that equips them with the resources to support our residents throughout the progression of their dementia. Our 1:6 or better caregiver-to-resident ratio ensures every resident is seen as a whole person and treated with dignity and respect.
Our Care University classes support caregivers to prevent burnout and support them in providing the best care to our residents.
“I fully trust that ComfortCare is providing the best possible care and doing so with warmth and kindness.”
— Kathy McFarlane
Amenities that Feel Like Home
Our homes are filled with familiar objects, safe and secure backyards with decks or patios for enjoying spring afternoons and homecooked meals—just like our residents may have had while living in their old homes.
Most of our residences have a house pet, a dog or a cat, welcoming guests at the front door or curling up with residents who need a little extra attention. Our residents are also encouraged to bring their personal pets to live with them (following a screening for sociability).
Amenities like these are more than a nice idea. They can help to alleviate stress and, in some cases, significantly reduce the need for medications.

Family Advocates
Policies and practices at ComfortCare Homes extend from a desire to bring families closer together. We believe professional caregivers help families reduce stress and guilt or resentment. They also help families focus on improving the quality of their relationships.
After caring for a loved one at home, families can suddenly feel out of touch with their loved one’s care. Seeking professional care services for a loved one shouldn’t take the family out of the equation. The Family Advocate at ComfortCare Homes keeps families in the conversation.
Our Family Advocate listens to families and articulates concerns to the care staff. Similar to a case manager, the Family Advocate can guide families who need community or family services. The Advocate can also help with advance directives and offer guidance on financial questions.
In addition, our Family Advocate can refer families to counseling or other important support services.
The Family Advocate at ComfortCare Homes:
-
Develops family histories to share with care staff
-
Communicates to ComfortCare Homes on behalf of families
-
Provides resources for families seeking outside support services
-
Helps keep families involved in their loved one's care
